As promised I did some quick research on how to meditate because you know data is no joke in South Africa, you better know what you looking for before you check your balance and your data is depleted without even a warning of “you have 4.45 mb left”. Trust and believe! So I got my information from this link below if you want to read more on it: (Idea, I. 2009. Meditation 101: techniques, benefits, and a beginners how to http://www.gaiam.com/discover/158/article/meditation-101-techniques-benefits-and-a-beginners-how-to (accessed 23 January 2017).

Meditation is said to be the training of the mind. There are many techniques that can suit each individual, different strokes for different folks, which I will list and summarise below.

Meditation for beginners (like me and maybe some of you) can start by focusing on breath, so your mind stays focus and isn’t distracted by your own thoughts about how you enjoyed yourself during the weekend, etc. So, the reasons I chose this website is because it really does for all types of people that maybe do wander off and go deep into their feels, and basically it also advises you on how to train your mind to get back to the number one focus. Here are the different types of meditation techniques:

Concentration Meditation: This is what I spoke of earlier.” You simply refocus your awareness on the chosen object of attention each time you notice your mind wandering. Rather than pursuing random thoughts, you simply let go. Through this process, your ability to concentrate improves.”

Mindfulness Meditation: This type allows you to entertain your thoughts as they drift through your mind and to judge them. “Through this meditation, you can see how your thoughts and feelings tend to move in particular patterns… with practice, an inner balance develops.”

You are allowed to combine the two. Do what you believe is best in finding inner balance and focus in you. There are also moving meditation techniques such as, tai chi, qigong and walking meditation.

I will demonstrate all the above on my Instagram, so please do follow me @anonymoussoul39 for weekly posts.
