Soul Appointments

Hi ladies and gentlemen. During the lock down I have had time to reflect on all the kinds of relationships I am in; friendships, past romantic relationships and familial relationships. You know there is a phrase in Zulu, ‘Yazi Sesibadala!’ and translated this means, ‘You know we are Grown’. That Zulu phrase is the conclusion I got to after reflecting on these relationships. I have marked what kind of relationships I want to have with next person, whether it be romantic, career, friendship, etc. and the kind of relationship I want is one of reciprocation, value, respect and communication. Those are my top tiers.

After much reflection I understand why certain people were in my life and why they had to go. We should not be holding onto things we cannot control such as people, but one thing I do say is look back and see what was their purpose in your life, did you grow from it, did they open your eyes to a different view, has your behaviour changed, etc. The entering and exiting of people into your life from the day you were born till the day you leave this earth, know that all those people are soul appointments:

A soul appointment is a meeting between two souls that were supposed to meet in order for one to grow or learn something from the other. I’m sure many of us have learnt something from an ex-partner/employer/employee/friend who was part of your life. That appointment can be short or long term. So basically, this is a reminder to you that everyone you meet and have connection with is a person that is RIGHT ON TIME for the SOUL APPOINTMENT. When they time is up, let go, reflect and move onto the next appointment.

As for me, particularly in the friendship department, I have made my exit and currently right on time with my new soul appointments.
