Today’s post was inspired by the book; “The monk who sold his Ferrari- Robin S. Sharma”

I have spoken about quite a lot and want to dig deeper into the most important aim of the blog. Being unshakable! Not being bothered, controlling what you can control and what you can’t control, rooting yourself firm to the ground, to your decisions, to your commitments, to your goals, and so on, so forth. So, for 4 posts I will be writing on the 7 virtues of being unshakable, from this book, in my interpretation.

1. The mind- your mind is the gate keeper of your soul, so what you let in, can breed and habitat in your soul. If you allow the worries or negative thoughts of yesterday, today and tomorrow occupy your mind, you are slowly but surely feeding your soul negative things to live on. Always try to look for the good in the bad, which will keep your spirits up. Train your mind to always see the cup half full (like I had said in a previous post).

I am going to be vulnerable with you all, as an example; I had an interview in the past few weeks and IT DID NOT GO WELL but, surprisingly when I was done with the interview, I do not know what happened but my mind automatically went to, write down the questions you weren’t confident with and write down the answers. I saw a lesson in that interview and did not see it as a failure (surprisingly, my mind really shocked me to be honest). Training your gate keeper (mind) to see and absorb the good will definitely allow for you to look beyond the circumstance and see the benefit of any set back if you put your mind to it.

2. Life’s aim- In this world we are born with a set of gifts or qualities that aid us in our life’s aim or purpose in the world (like I had spoken in an earlier post). When we truly know our purpose that has been set for us on this earth, we should put all our concentration and energy into it, because as cliché as this may sound, life will be easier to work with because you are doing what you love. Putting in the work won’t seem like ‘work’ but rather it will seem as ‘play’. I am going to share a little about me with you again. I am still seeking employment in the legal industry and because I am tired of waiting for someone to hire me, I have decided to start something that is going to be work for me, that at this moment does not seem like work. It actually gets me excited. Its counter-balances some of the negative emotions that erupt from being impatient with life.

I set short term goals as destination points over a long time period to get my main big BOSS goal, so that I don’t get demotivated. From there I am able to see where my mark is, and how I got to my mark.

To be continued...
